Last week, I called on Speaker Pelosi to hold an up-or-down vote on the Defund ACORN Act. This week, the president and Democrats in Congress will continue to push their plans for a government takeover of health care that will break the president’s promise not to raise taxes on the middle class. On Sunday, I appeared on NBC’s Meet the Press to voice Americans’ concerns with this plan. Also, in this week’s E-Bulletin you’ll find the times and locations for my weekly “Open Door” program, as well as the latest on Afghanistan and other issues in Congress. Please continue to keep me updated on the issues that concern you. John Boehner ![]() 8TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT BLOG New Report: Government Health Care Takeover Will Hurt Many Seniors - "As part of their government takeover of health care (H.R. 3200), Democrats have proposed more than $160 billion in cuts to Medicare Advantage, the popular program that provides nearly 11 million seniors – including many in rural areas of our own district – with access to high-quality private health care plans." Boehner: It's Time to Defund ACORN Now - "Boehner says: ‘it is evident that ACORN is incapable of using federal funds in a manner that is consistent with the law. The supposedly Cadillac insurance policies include ones that cover many of the nation’s firefighters and coal miners, older employees at small businesses — a whole gamut that runs from union shops to Main Street entrepreneurs." Wall Street Journal: Boehner Rallies Values Voters:'We Can Take Our Country Back' - “House Minority Leader John Boehner called on social conservatives at the Values Voter Summit this morning to do their part to end the Democratic majority in Congress next year. Democrats in Washington, he said, are bankrupting America and undermining national security.” Washington Times: ACORN loses its funding, allies in House - “House Democrats on Thursday unexpectedly abandoned their longtime ally ACORN, joining Republicans in an overwhelming vote to end all federal funding for the embattled liberal activist group.” ![]() OPEN DOOR PROGRAM The "Open Door" program gives Eighth District residents the opportunity to meet face-to-face with a member of Boehner's congressional staff to ask questions, discuss problems, and offer opinions about issues related to the federal government. Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky

I commend Mitch McConnell requesting that the Safe School Czar, Kevin Jennings, to be fired. I agree with this. No individual, with the history he has, should be a Safe School Czar. He should have done the right thing, years ago, by turning in the man who was raping a sophomore in high school. He knew about it and did nothing. Then he supports a member of NAMBLA (North American Man Boy Love Association. This is sick and perverted stuff. No man, or woman should ever be allowed to hold any Govt. Office with this background!!!
